The Chair Project

The chair project started at Temple College back in 2005. One of our projects was to find a chair that we would fix up to become a self representation of ourselves and our lives. I found this chair on the side of the road and spent a few weeks sanding, painting, reupholstering the seat, pasting self developed black & white photography onto it. It would be another 2 years before I decided to paint something other than a figure. I used this chair to photograph a new series where the chair becomes the figure. It became The Chair Project.
